Make each day your masterpiece.

– John Wooden

Activity does not equal achievement. Success is not a matter of action, but precision. This is the core difference between good and great.

The will to win is not as important as the will to prepare to win.

SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY SEATTLE

Sports Psychology – Mental Mindset Training

Mental Mindset Training sessions are initially designed to help athletes discover new possibilities for enhancing performance and achieving set goals. Emphasis is then placed on developing and adapting newly crafted skills and techniques into training and practice routines. The third step is implementing new tactics into athletic performance. A residual benefit of participating in a sequence of Mental Mindset Training is the opportunity to continually repeat optimal performance in the future.

Examples of Sports Psychology Techniques:

  • Performance-Excitement Regulation
  • Optimal Mind/Body Activation
  • Stage-Setting

Sports Psychology – Mental Recovery Training

Mental Recovery Training is structured to move athletes from a state of merely surviving back to competitively thriving. Numerous situations and circumstances can negatively influence an athlete's ability to compete. Injury alone can be a significant mental setback. As a sports psychology professional, Dr. Stone's approach to Mental Recovery Training is to help athletes devise an 'action plan' with identifiable and attainable goals for a successful recovery and comeback.

Team-Sport Consulting

Dr. Stone offers team-sport consulting services to amateur and professional teams in an array of domains and capacities. Such endeavor aims to assist athletes and coaches to increase performance. Examples of these services include:

  • Peak Performance Training & Workshops
  • Individual (one-to-one) Mental Mindset Training with Players
  • Coaching Consultation (Individually or Collectively with Staff)
  • Motivational Speaking

Each team, sport, and environment is unique to the individuals (coaches & players) within it. So it’s not a 'one size fits all' approach to consultation. Rather, Dr. Stone's philosophy is to assess and build the best possible model that meets team and individual needs at any given time (in or out of season). The result is a strategically formulated peak performance profile that is flexible and adaptive in assisting coaches and players to maximize their potential and be at their best in competition.
